Rayong is a province in eastern Thailand that is highly ranked as one the economic powerhouse in Thailand economy. The province has over 17 industrial estates and earns over 79% of its revenue from the industrial sector. Rayong is one of the provinces in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) that directly connect to major industrial zones in the nearby Chonburi province.

Industrial sector plays a significant role in Rayong’s economy. According to data from the Department of Industrial Works in 2022, there were 3,075 factories and 196,526 factory workers in Rayong. This poses Rayong as having the highest GPP per capita at 1,043,757 THB per year for nearly 10 consecutive years.  

 

Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is a major large-scale project that aims to develop infrastructures to support the expansion in the industrial sector, attract talented workforce, and support the new S-Curve industry. Many flagship projects are planned for opening in 2029 onward such as EEC Silicon Tech Park, the 3rd major international airport, Rayong-Chanthaburi-Trat railroad network, twin track railroad, high speed trains connecting 3 major international airports (Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueng, and U-Tapao).       

   

Rayong has many attractions that are charming and undisturbed. Khao Laem Ya-Mu Ko Samet National Park has scenic beaches and captivating natural scenery. Thung Prong Thong (Golden Meadow) is a popular ecotourism area with a 1 km wooden walkway through the forest to learn about mangrove forest conservation. Cultural attractions such as Phra Chedi Klang Nam and Suan Lamai where visitors can enjoy fresh fruits from their 500 Rai orchard are attractive and truly worth a visit.      

 

Rayong continuously attracts workers from all over the world, which contribute to property growth in Rayong. In 2022, there were over 11,000 foreign workers in Rayong with the majority from Japan, South Korea, and China. Most foreign workers in Rayong are positioned in management level and high-level executives. They receive high earnings and have housing allowance about 15-30% of their salary base.  

Serviced apartments and condominiums in Rayong continually gain demand. The rental yield is 5-7% annually. Condominium monthly rental is 5,000-18,000 baht (depending on unit size). The capital gain is 3-5% annually. Most renters include expats and domestic workers from various industrial estates in Rayong.
