Visiting Europe is expensive for most Americans, so when somebody starts dishing on ways to save cash while you're there, we're all ears.

This time, of all places, it's the United Kingdom's Post Office who's got the inside scoop. No, seriously, for whatever reason (not enough mail to deliver, maybe?) the British post office's compiled a list of of the continent's least expensive cities to visit for a weekend -- and Budapest, Hungary takes the top spot. Based on the cost of food/drink, sightseeing, and transit fares, as well as two nights of accommodation and other "essential" necessities, a weekend in the Hungarian capital would run you, on average, about $187.79 (airfare excluded, obviously).

Where should you go after Budapest? Here are 10 European cities where you'll get the most bang for your buck, along with the average amount you should plan on dropping for the weekend.
