KASIKORNBANK announces the nine-month of 2015 net profit of Baht 33,997 Million
Mr. Predee Daochai, President of KASIKORNBANK, said KASIKORNBANK announced net profit for the nine-month period of 2015 of Baht 33,997 Million, a decrease of 6.05% over the same period of 2014.
Operating performance for the nine-month period of 2015 compared with the same period of 2014, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 33,997 Million, a decrease of Baht 2,190 Million or 6.05% over the same period of 2014 because KBank has set aside higher allowance for impairment loss on loans amounting to Baht 7,193 Million in this period. However, net interest income increased by Baht 1,820 Million or 2.97%. NIM stood at 3.66% decreasing from the same period of 2014. This is consistent with the direction of interest rate reduction. Non-interest income also increased by Baht 6,393 Million or 15.38% due to an increase in net fees and service income and revenue from money market and capital market products. Moreover, the efficiency ratio in this period stood at 42.12%.
Operating performance for the third quarter of 2015 compared with the second quarter of 2015, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 10,117 Million, a decrease of Baht 1,362 Million or 11.86% from the previous quarter mostly because KBank has set aside higher allowance for impairment loss on loans amounting to Baht 1,470 Million in this period and non-interest income decreased by Baht 586 Million or 3.52%. Net interest margin (NIM) stood at 3.57%. Meanwhile, other operating expenses decreased and the efficiency ratio in this quarter stood at 41.62%.
Operating performance for the third quarter of 2015 compared with the same quarter of 2014, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 10,117 Million, a decrease of Baht 2,399 Million or 19.17% over the same quarter of 2014.
As of 30 September 2015, KBank and its subsidiaries’ total assets were Baht 2,538,678 Million, rising Baht 26,955 Million or 1.07% over the previous quarter and rising Baht 149,541 Million or 6.26% over the end of 2014, the majority came from an increase in interbank and money market items - net and loans. Loans were Baht 1,577,781 Million, rising Baht 50,701 Million or 3.32% over the end of 2014. Deposits were Baht 1,677,008 Million, rising Baht 47,177 Million or 2.89% over the end of 2014. NPL gross to total loans stood at 2.62% as of 30 September 2015, while at the previous quarter and the end of 2014 this stood at 2.39% and 2.24%, respectively. In this period, KBank has set aside higher allowance for impairment loss on loans to be served as economic slowdown. Coverage ratio as of 30 September 2015 stood at 131.63%, while at the previous quarter and the end of 2014 this stood at 138.13% and 141.38%, respectively. In addition, as of 30 September 2015, KASIKORNBANK FINANCIAL CONGLOMERATE’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) according to the Basel III Accord was 17.73%, with a Tier-1 Capital ratio of 14.61%.
